The Mill is part of a collection of historic farm buildings dating back to around 1850, situated in the Suffolk countryside between Bury St Edmunds and Thetford. It offers a welcoming retreat for travelling professionals, nature enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers looking for a comfortable and relaxed stay.
The Mill features four bedrooms, which can be booked individually on a bed and breakfast basis or rented as a whole-house holiday retreat. Guests staying on a bed and breakfast basis enjoy a self-serve breakfast, with a selection of bread, cereals, fruit, juice, tea and coffee. The fridge is stocked, allowing you to start your day at your own pace. We also provide fresh eggs from our own hens, homemade bread baked by Piers using flour from a local mill, porridge, seasonal fruit, homemade jams, honey from our own bees and a range of teas and coffee for a full continental-style breakfast. If you have any specific breakfast requests, we are happy to accommodate them with advance notice.
While we do not usually offer a catered meal service, guests have full access to a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, microwave, dishwasher and all essential cooking tools. The kitchen is stocked with staple ingredients, so you can prepare meals whenever you like. For those arriving on foot or by bicycle, we can provide basic provisions for a simple meal at an additional charge, please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements.
We aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible and offer a range of amenities at no extra cost, including Text taken from bandbstays.co.uk a cot, high chair, allergy-free bedding, a bike repair bench and wheelchair access. Laundry facilities are available for a small additional fee.
There are two king size bedrooms and two rooms can be a superking or arranged as twin rooms. All of the bedrooms are on the ground floor and each room has its own shower, except for Tobago, which features both a bath and shower. Guests are provided with soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, robes, slippers and a hairdryer for added comfort.
Outside there is a natural swimming pond if you fancy a dip and an outdoor pavilion with BBQ & dining area.
For those booking the entire house, please note that breakfast is not included and the rental is offered on a fully self-catering basis. Whether you’re here for work, relaxation, or adventure, The Mill provides a peaceful and well-equipped home away from home in the heart of Suffolk.
