The Castle Hotel is a welcoming hotel located in Bishops Castle, one of England's most charming and well-preserved market towns. Ideally situated near the historic towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow, the hotel is surrounded by the stunning South Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and the picturesque Welsh borders. This area offers some of the finest walking countryside in the country, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

We have double rooms, family rooms, twin beds and single beds. They are all on the first or second floor and are reached from a fine Georgian staircase.
The Castle Hotel doubles as a traditional country pub and has three bar areas, each of which has either a log burner or open fire in the cooler months. All the bar areas can also be used for dining or drinking, as you prefer. We use a wide range of local suppliers; we’re spoilt for them actually. What we aim to produce is modern, good pub food that is healthy, hearty, flavoursome and fresh and great value of course.
Bishops Castle is one of the most charming and unspoilt market towns in England with two real ale breweries and conveniently close to the medieval towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow. You are surrounded on all sides by the beautiful South Shropshire Hills, the Welsh borders and in the great walking countryside, there is something to suit all tastes in the area.
