Ambleside Central Guest House offers room only accommodation in Ambleside, The Lake District. Our central location and the room only concept allows you to enjoy a great night out and come back to your cosy room anytime and in just a few minutes.
Our room only guest house is located in the 'hustle and bustle' of one of the Lake Districts' most beautiful towns, with many good restaurants, charming cafes, bars and outdoor shops nearby.
Offering spacious double, twin and family rooms which are newly refurbished in a contemporary style, and housed in a Victorian building which retains many of its original features, each room has either an en suite shower room or a private Text taken from bandbstays.co.uk bathroom (not shared).
The boutique-style rooms are furnished to a high standard but we take a 'no frills' approach to our general facilities, enabling us to keep our room rates lower whilst still offering quality accommodation. We are rated a 3 Star Room Only Accommodation by Visit Britain.
As well as being a gateway to outdoor adventures, there is lots to do in Ambleside. We have a cinema showing all the latest releases, plus art house films. There are lots of quality cafes, restaurants and bars, some with live music such as The Gilded Lily next door who feature local bands and regular Open Mic Nights and there is jazz most weekends at Zeffirellis. We have 2 parks including lake views and a children's play area. There are regular boats travelling from Waterhead to Bowness and Lakeside, plus boats and kayaks are available for hire. You'll find tennis, pitch and putt and crazy golf at White Platts Recreation Ground. Guided walks and bike rides can be arranged locally and bike hire is available.
