In an outstanding hilltop location overlooking the Irthing Valley and just 300 yards from the Hadrian's Wall National Trail at Birdoswald in Cumbria, this listed 16th century fortified farmhouse, or 'bastle', has three letting rooms which are offered for bed & breakfast. ''Hadrian's Retreat' and 'Caligula's Chamber' are large spacious rooms with superb views of The Wall. We also have 'Flavian's Folly' - a downstairs twin room in pine.
We believe in quality and comfort and are sure that you will find both here at The Hill on the Wall.
'The Long Room', with its log fire and four foot thick walls is a cosy lounge for the use of guests.
The Dining Room contains a large pine table made from the wood of a 17th century mill.
Rates: From £75 single occupancy per night.
From £95 per room per night based on 2 people sharing.
