The Blacksmiths Arms offers charming accommodation, delicious food and an excellent bar in the picturesque village of Talkin. We are in the ideal location for discovering all that Cumbria has to offer, with Carlisle only 25 minutes away and the quaint market town of Brampton just 3 miles away.
We have a range of beautifully furnished bedrooms available, all perfect for a restful night’s sleep after a day sightseeing. All the rooms come with a range of facilities: a TV, blackout curtains, tea and coffee making facilities, a hair dryer, complimentary toiletries and an iron/ironing board. The bathrooms come with either a bath or shower.
Enjoy a lovely start to the day with a hearty full Cumbrian breakfast, including locally produced Cumberland sausages. Cereals, pastries and fresh juices are also available.
You can tuck into some light meals and bar snacks in the pub, whilst The Old Forge Restaurant serves a full Text taken from bandbstays.co.uk a-la-carte menu using fantastic local produce. Daily blackboard specials are available and the bar offers refreshing real cask ales. When the sun is shining, enjoy a drink or two in the delightful beer garden.
Talkin Tarn (Lake) is only half a mile away and the surrounding area is particularly beautiful. There is an excellent golf course (Brampton) close by and we are well situated for all country pursuits, including walking, golfing, fishing and pony trekking. The Borders, Hadrian's Wall the Lake District and many other famous historical and scenic places are all within easy reach.
