The Crown Inn is situated in the heart of the Lake District in the centre of the picturesque village of Coniston. We are only a short distance from the famous lake which Donald Campbell used for his water speed record with his jet boat Bluebird and only a short distance from the beautiful Tarn Hows. The inn is open to residents and non-residents throughout the day, we serve great food, a range of drinks and offer a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Meals, snacks and beverages are served all day in the public lounge bar, or we can offer the same menu in the adjoining dining room for a quieter atmosphere. Our chef takes pride in his home-cooked, well-presented food. Choose from an extensive menu including homemade pies, Cumberland sausage on mash and onion gravy or breast of chicken with a creamy stilton and bacon sauce. Daily specials are where he uses his flair and imagination.
Birthdays, christenings, weddings, anniversaries - any occasion - we will help you to celebrate within a friendly, informal atmosphere. The dining room seats approximately 50 people where you can dine in privacy from a choice of menus created to suit your requirements.
Live music is played in the bar on the first Friday of each month which can be an added bonus to your function at no extra cost. Alternatively, entertainment can be arranged for a small charge.
Coniston is the ideal base to visit the tremendous landscape of streams and mountains including the Coniston Old Man and surrounding Lake District. We are also on the path of the Cumbrian Way and welcome all walkers.
