Melfort House is an oasis of tranquillity and culinary delights on the shores of Loch Melfort in Argyll, near Oban in Scotland. We offer a relaxing retreat for those who are looking for a break away from the hustle and bustle of modern-day living.
There are 3 rooms at the guest house called Loch Room, Hill Room & Garden Room.
The Loch Room has a large high and extra-long bed, together with a living space with flat-screen TV and DVD. sofa and armchairs make this our most sought-after room.
The Hill Room is the largest of our en suite rooms and has a super king bed which easily converts to a twin and the bathroom has a bath and shower. With four windows to the west and north, this bedroom has a light and airy feel and overlooks the rolling tree-clad hills of Melfort.
The Garden Room is a generous size and its warm earthy tones create a cosy, intimate atmosphere and make it a sanctuary for relaxation.
Breakfast is served each morning in our dining room and consists of a variety of local delicacies including Loch Fyne kippers, homemade tattie scones, Text taken from bandbstays.co.uk oatmeal porridge with cream, chilli omelettes, kedgeree and exotic fruit salad. Dinner can also be provided by prior arrangement.
Upon Arrival or after your day's adventures why not sink into a comfortable sofa and enjoy freshly baked scones, pancakes or a slice of Victoria Sponge and as much tea as you need to refresh you after a busy day taking in the beautiful surroundings.
From ancient Viking and prehistoric sites to wonderful beaches, wildlife, heather-clad hills and a panorama of islands strewn across an azure blue sea, there is plenty to capture your eye. Mountains, castles, fine gardens, whisky distilleries, folk music, island hopping and amazing boat trips though the infamous Corryvrecken whirlpool are but a few of the ways to enjoy your days whilst staying with us.
