Dumfries is an ideal centre for short breaks, golf, shooting, fishing, walking, cycling, horse riding, shopping and sightseeing. The area has an abundance of cultural heritage and is the place where our national bard, Robert Burns, lived, loved and died. His legacy is historical sites, house, museums, heritage centre, a mausoleum and famously, the Globe Inn. Famously too, J.M. Barrie, who wrote Peter Pan etc, lived in the house next door to our guest house whilst he attended Dumfries Academy.
