Situated in our own grounds within the delightful village of Portpatrick, near Stranraer, Rickwood House combines quality accommodation with comfort and good food with a warm welcome.
We have double rooms, twin rooms, a family room, a king-size room and 2 large ground floor bedrooms, all of which are individually decorated to a high standard.
All our bedrooms are fully equipped with colour TV, Radio Alarm Clock, Hairdryer, DVD playersand hospitality trays with a variety of teas, coffees and home made shortbread.
While you help yourself from the wide selection of fruits, cereals,four varieties of juices etc available on our side board buffet, we shall prepare your choice of cooked breakfast to order.
Traditionally prepared porridge is a speciality.
Smoked salmon with scrambled eggs is always available as an alternative to the traditional cooked breakfast.
Eggs (fried, scrambled, poached or boiled), bacon, sausage, fresh mushrooms and tomatoes are always on the menu while the daily “extra” may be potato scones, scotch pancakes, hash browns or even sliced haggis!

For guests who prefer to have their evening meal with us, Maggie is an accomplished cook and we can provide a delicious 2 or 3 course home cooked meal six nights a week. Local produce is used whenever possible.
We have a residents license so that you can enjoy some wine or perhaps a bottle of real ale brewed in Castle Douglas.
Rickwood House Hotel is in Portpatrick, near Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland. We make delightful stop-over accommodation for the Cairnryan to Belfast ferry. (Loch Ryan Port) We are also ideally placed for visiting the Mull of Galloway.
From the North take the A77 (Stranraer) from Glasgow.
From the South take the A75 (Stranraer) from Dumfries.
Approaching Portpatrick on A77 from Stranraer or Cairnryan, fork right at War Memorial into Heugh Road.
After approximately 1/2 mile turn right at the crossroads up Golf Course Road. The entry to Rickwood is first on the left on the road to Portpatrick Golf Club.
