Cromarty, Ross-shire

Facilities

Description

Situated at the heart of the historic town of Cromarty, the Old Brewery is an exceptional destination where the arts, nature and heritage converge. Whether you’re seeking inspiration, relaxation, or adventure, this outstanding example of a converted 18th-century Scottish brew house provides the perfect setting to immerse yourself in creativity and the natural beauty of the Black Isle.

The Old Brewery is a hub for artistic expression and discovery. It hosts workshops, exhibitions and events that celebrate a diverse range of creative pursuits. With comfortable and affordable accommodation, spacious studios and performance areas, it is an ideal venue for artists, writers and musicians to gather, learn and share their work.

The accommodation at the Old Brewery can host up to 22 people in 12 bedrooms, including four single rooms, one double, five twin rooms and two triple bedrooms. While the shower rooms and toilets are Text taken from bandbstays.co.uk not ensuite, they are conveniently located right next to the bedrooms. Guests have access to a self-catering kitchen and catered meal options are also available.

The venue offers four rooms for meetings and breakout groups. The café area is a bright and versatile space with access to the kitchen and French doors leading to the garden. It can be used for meals, meetings, workshops, concerts and functions. Equipped with a projector and a pull-down screen, this ground-floor space can seat 50 in a concert arrangement and 35 to 40 for a sit-down dinner. Stackable chairs and folding tables make it highly flexible.

Studio 1 is a stone-walled room on the ground floor featuring an electric fire and comfortable seating. Studio 2 is a larger ground-floor room with sofas, easy chairs and space for tables. The loft studio, located on the top floor, offers views over the Cromarty Firth and accommodates 20 people in a horseshoe layout or 40 in a conference-style setup. It is also equipped with a projector, a pull-down screen, and a DVD player.

Beyond the indoor spaces, the Old Brewery features an outdoor patio and lawn area with outdoor furniture, providing a relaxing setting for guests. Ample free parking is available, making it easily accessible.

Located just a 45-minute drive or an hour by bus from Inverness, it is also conveniently situated for those traveling along the NC500 route. Whilst staying here, there is plenty to see and do in the area, including:
