The historic town of Barnstaple is a 5 mile drive, or there is a frequent bus service from the village. There are both bus and railway stations in Barnstaple. Barnstaple also offers a theatre, cinema and on Fridays, the Pannier Market is full of local produce. This is well worth a visit as there are very few such markets left in the country.
The Tarka Trail is about 400 metres from the house and we have ample car parking should you wish to leave your car and walk for the day. If you don't want to do it the hard way, cycle hire is available in the village. Braunton has several good restaurants, pubs, banks, supermarkets and an off-licence.
