The White Lion, a historic building dating back to 1712, warmly invites you to enjoy its comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Our pub has three beautifully furnished double rooms available, all perfect for a restful night’s sleep after a day sightseeing. In the morning, you can look forward to a delicious breakfast to set you up for the day ahead.
The pub offers a special atmosphere, offering a home away from home, but with a bit more beer. Inside you’ll notice lots of character and charm, including wonky flagstone floors and even wonkier walls. The bar offers a range of great drinks, including Thatcher’s cider and real ales. Unwind with a drink by the toasty fire or when the sun is shining relax in the spacious beer garden.
We offer a varied and creative dining menu, offering something for everyone. We use lots of excellent local produce, including great farm produce. From homemade beef burger to beer battered haddock and chips, we have something for everyone.
You can look forward to live music every Friday night.
As we are the most northerly Inn in Dorset we’re also very close to the borders of Wiltshire and Somerset, comfortably positioned close enough to the A303 to be a very welcome diversion from a drive between London and the West Country, while being far enough from the traffic to be a peaceful haven.
