The Helyar Arms is situated in the picturesque village of East Coker near Yeovil and is a charming Grade II listed 17th Century inn that offers an enjoyable environment to grab a bite to eat, something to drink or a place to rest your head while exploring this beautiful part of Somerset. We are the perfect place for those who enjoy a relaxing place to stay, countryside walks and a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Guests have their own private access outside licensing house. Each guest room includes en suite showers, flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi access and tea and coffee making facilities.
We are passionate about our food, using local produce from neighbouring farmers and suppliers. Our menus could be described as traditional British fare with a twist, embracing some influences from the middle and far eastern cuisines. We have tried to include dishes that will suit all palates and purses whether meat eaters, vegetarian or pescatarian! (special dietary requirements can be catered for with prior notice).
Breakfast is available at the pub (£10 per person) and is open to residents and non-residents.
The village East Coker is very pretty, with its mellow stone and thatch cottages, Alms Houses, Historic Coker Court and St Michael’s church. You can visit the resting place of T.S. Eliot and discover the birthplace of the explorer William Dampier. The surrounding area has a wealth of attractions that all ages can enjoy, so whether you are hiking through the countryside, shopping in a city or visiting a historical house, we are sure you will have a wonderful time during your stay with us.
