Bron Heulog is a peaceful guest house in the picturesque village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in Powys. Our Victorian house provides comfortable accommodation and still contains original features such as Victorian fireplaces and high ceilings. If you are looking for a tranquil break, our location is ideal. Within an hour’s drive you can reach numerous attractions and there the small market town of Llanfyllin is only 6 miles away. Here you will find places to eat, drink and a little town square.
There are three guest rooms available as per below.
The Orchid Room: A very spacious and comfortable twin bedded room, beautifully decorated in cream and gold. The large window overlooks the village and the Berwyn Text taken from bandbstays.co.uk Mountains beyond. This room includes a television, tea/coffee making and full en suite facilities with shower.
The Sunflower Room: This is a large bright double bedded room benefiting from the morning sun through dual aspect windows, one overlooking a weeping ash which is over a hundred and forty years old. From the other window there are lovely views of gardens and the mountains in the distance. Sunflower can also be used as a family room (single bed available). This room has a television, tea/coffee making and full en suite facilities with shower.
The Bluebell Room: This is a pretty double bedded room, decorated in sky blue with co-ordinating fabrics. The view from Bluebell overlooks gardens and the village, with the Berwyn Mountains in the distance. The Bluebell Room has a television, tea/coffee making and full en suite facilities.
Llanrhaeadr is a typical Welsh village on the border of two counties, marking the division between Mid and North Wales. In this tranquil village with its beautiful surroundings pretty stone cottages follow the contours of the valley - a perfect setting for those who want to "get away from it all". It is no wonder that they filmed "The Englishman who went up a hill but came down a mountain" here starring Hugh Grant. It was in Llanrhaeadr, whilst he was at St. Dogfan's Church, that Bishop Morgan translated the bible into Welsh in 1588.
For the more energetic amongst us Llanrhaeadr is an ideal location for abseiling, canoeing, climbing, horse riding, paragliding, quad biking, walking, white water rafting, to name but a few. If you have time after all these, you can hire a bike and cycle around Lake Vyrnwy.
