The Roast Ox Inn is an enjoyable place to stay while exploring this beautiful part of Wales. The inn is situated in Paincastle near Builth Wells and Hay-on-Wye and offers homely food, tasty drink and comfortable guest rooms.
There are a total of 9 guest rooms at the inn and they can all be made up as either double or single rooms depending on your requirements. Each of the guest rooms has an en suite shower room and a Freeview T V. We make no pretense about our food and drink, only that we use the finest local produce, which our chef then lovingly prepares.
Evening meals and Sunday lunches are available, both attract great support from the local residents and advance booking is advised. The bar also has a selection of real ales, ciders and an ever growing Text taken from bandbstays.co.uk selection of wines and whiskeys.
We are privileged to be located within an area of stunning beauty and breath taking views in every direction. There are sleepy market towns and old fashioned shops nearby in places such as Hay-on-Wye and Builth Wells and we are perfect for those who are looking for a get away from it all break as mobile phones don’t work in Painscastle! The inn provides a place where people can enjoy the great outdoors and the peace & quiet.
